Believe it or not, happiness is a skill which can be learned. Living with depression, anxiety and chronic fatigue, I use these skills to manage my mental health every single day. For too many years, I associated happiness with the buzz and excitement of a new purchase, someone complimenting me, or a big life change. The result was a constant up and down and nothing lasting. Over years of experimentation, therapy, and professional trainings, I've developed a toolkit of 'little and often' happy habits that help me access and shine out my natural human capacity for contentment that exists within all of us. It's not always easy, but there is a way, and it's backed by lots of lovely science.
